For our friends in the Land Down Under, round two of the Viking Group Australian Superbike Championships (ASBK) at Darwin’s Hidden Valley will be aired on Fox Sports tomorrow night.

Tune in to Fox Sports 1 at 10:30pm Thursday, June 10 for 80 minutes of the series’ historic first event in the Northern Territory, a round that featured intense, close competition throughout the premier and support classes.

Riders were forced to contend with a number of variables: A new track, soaring temperatures and sapping humidity, plus the ever-present threat of a Darwin downpour.

The program will feature the might of the Viking Group Australian Superbike/Superstock 1000 A&B classes plus the hotly-contested Insure My Ride Supersport class.

Last week, the ASBK announced an exciting new deal with Fox Sports to broadcast the nation’s premier road racing championship for the next three years.

Details of the round three broadcast from Queensland Raceway will be announced shortly.

Considering the total disregard for motorcycle events in the US, we have a relatively full week of television coverage coming up.

Plenty of chances to catch this past weekend’s American Superbike and Daytona Sportbike races from the AMA Pro Racing West Coast Moto Jam at Infineon Raceway are on the menu, as well as Isle of Man TT Senior and 600 Superstock races (there’s usually a few seconds of sidecar coverage thrown in for good measure).

If you haven’t checked out the Supersport Class race of the FIM World Superbike Championship from Kyalami, South Africa, make a point to set your DVR for 2pm on Tuesday, as it marked a brilliant performance by former AMA Aprilia and Attack Kawasaki rider Chaz Davies.

One of the most well-produced motorcycle programs on television, Twist the Throttle on Discover HD Theater, covers Ducati motorcycles this week. The episode is a must-see for any desmo enthusiast.

Discovery HD Theater comes through with Isle of Man TT and FIM Speedway coverage tonight and tomorrow.

Sunday’s AMA Pro Road Racing National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited and Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL finals from the AMA Pro Superbike Championships Weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park will air tonight on SPEED Channel at 12:30 a.m. ET (9:30 p.m. PT).

Good Wednesday, Motourage members.  We hope everyone has made it home safely from Indy or wherever your two wheels have taken you lately.  There’s a lot going on in the world of motorcycle racing this weekend, with many exciting championship fights still heating up.

World Superbikes are back after an extended break.  Ben Spies hopes to catch Noriyuki Haga who leads the American rookie by only seven points.

The last round of AMA Pro Road Racing is taking place in New Jersey this weekend.  Mat Mladin has already clinched the American Superbike Championship and will be carrying the #1 plate on his Rockstar Mikita Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 as he completes the final round of his professional racing career.  However, the Daytona Sportbike class is still close with Danny Eslick leading Martin Cardenas – who is recovering from a broken hand that resulted from a practice crash at VIR – by 17 points.

MotoGP heads back to Europe with the race for the Championship dangerously close.  This is the last race of Casey Stoner’s absence, and Jorge Lorenzo looks to close the gap on his teammate and deny Valentino Rossi his seventh premier class victory.  In the GP 250cc class, Hiroshi Aoyama has a 16-point lead over Alvaro Bautista, but both Bati and Marco Simoncelli are determined to take a championship trophy with them when they move up to the premier class in 2010.
